LBF Board of Trustees Meets for Regular Business
October 30, 2025
The Louisiana Baptist Foundation Board of Trustees met on October 28, 2025, to conduct the business of the Foundation. The meeting began with a devotional message provided by Matt Coker, the Director of Public Relations and Development for the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services. Coker encouraged the Board from Jeremiah 17 to trust in the Lord and to remain rooted in Him throughout different seasons of ministry.
Investments and Operations
Representatives from Graystone Consulting presented their report to the Board, highlighting the Foundation’s overall growth in its investments, ongoing adherence to its investment policies, and discussing market forecasts for the remainder of the year. Kevin Brown, the Foundation’s Controller, reported that the Foundation’s assets under management have exceeded $302 million, and the Foundation’s operational expenses remain within budget.
Strategic Plan
The Foundation’s Executive Director, Jared Price, reported on the Foundation’s progress toward its strategic plan: to advance the Kingdom by $200 million or more in 20 years or less by facilitating gifts, managing money, and providing other services that strengthen Louisiana Baptist churches and ministries. Price noted how the Foundation has continued to educate and facilitate gifts for churches and ministries, has provided impactful ministry services, implemented a comprehensive marketing strategy, and maintained efficient operations. “All of this,” Price stated, “has culminated in the Foundation advancing the Kingdom by over $100 million in the last 5 years.” While worth celebrating, Price reminded the Board to remain focused on the true result, saying, “Let’s not lose sight that those are real dollars – going to reach churches and ministries – impacting real lives for Christ. Those are dollars going to help a Louisiana Baptist church as they disciple their members and reach the lost in their community. Those are real dollars going to LCU as they’re preparing graduates, to the Children’s Home as they’re helping children and families in need, and to our other partners through the Cooperative Program. Those are real dollars that are advancing the Kingdom.”
Other Business
The Board later adopted an operating budget for 2026 of $1.3 million, approved several internal allocations to strengthen its various reserves, and elected its incoming officers and committee chairs for the next year. For 2026, the Board elected Matthew Gazaway, senior pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church, Kentwood, as President; Donny Durr, minister of business administration and operations for Broadmoor Baptist Church, Shreveport, as Vice President; Andy Brister, an attorney and member of Lake Providence Baptist Church, Lake Providence, as Secretary; Vu Luong, an insurance agent and member of Vietnamese Hope Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, as Investment Committee Chair; and Melinda Robinson, the financial administrator for First Baptist Church, Covington, as Operating Committee Chair. The meeting concluded with a recognition of outgoing board members Dr. James Gardner and Dr. David Goza, and the various officers and committee chairs for 2025.
The Louisiana Baptist Foundation remains thankful for the support of Louisiana Baptists and remains committed to advancing the Kingdom: one dollar at a time, one ministry at a time, one life at a time.
